Science and Silver Creek

The science of Silver Creek is, to say the least, very complex. The Nature Conservancy has undertaken collecting data and meeting the needs of understanding the science of Silver Creek since the early seventies. But only until recently has technology advanced enough to really take advantage of understanding the intricate nuances of the ecosystem that is Silver Creek.  With the continuing efforts of data collection from Ecosystem Sciences and the Nature Conservancy we can use good science to move forward. And now we can use new technologies like thermal imaging, lidar, drones and groundwater models to better inform us of the future needs of this invaluable ecosystem we love. As new technologies are used, Silver Creek Alliance embraces its possibilities for further uses to help us understand the system. Moving forward the Alliance will partner with organizations to create a geomorphic assessment of the Silver Creek Watershed to better lay out projects, prioritize them and create budgets to implement the projects. You can find much of the science and data that has been collected since the early 1940’s at www.SaveSilverCreek.org

You can also find information on the data collection and science of Silver Creek in the following reports.
