Educating people about Silver Creek and how it works is as important as any project or study. Without letting people know how it works, what it needs and what we can do for it, we just wouldn’t get anything done or be able to get support. Education starts with letting landowners know what options they have and what can be done to help them improve their opportunities. Education continues with reaching out to the public through conversations, media and meetings. Schools need to be involved and made aware of the importance of protecting Silver Creek for them and their children to enjoy for generations. The Silver Creek Alliance will do everything in its power to reach out to anyone who wants to learn about what can be done, what has been done and what they can do. Education is a key component to our Mission and we will need help through funding and community involvement when it comes to bringing the message to people. Our web presence will play a part in education by tying into SaveSilverCreek.org and the Nature Conservancy. Not only is the economy of our area at stake, but so is the social value of Silver Creek to anyone who has cast a fly line or watched a bird over its waters. We must work together to achieve a common goal of permanent preservation for Silver Creek.
Currently we are reaching out to land owners about the benefits of buffer zones and land use practices. We are also very involved with the community in water use issues that concern Silver Creek. And with you continued support, we educate the public about Silver Creek through our Annual Reports.
