Restoration planning for Silver Creek is an integral part of conservation. Without solid, reliable and consistent data collection, analysis and understanding of what that data means, it would be very difficult to make informed decisions to meet the needs of the Silver Creek ecosystem. With the Nature Conservancy’s help and the continuing efforts and support of Ecosystem Sciences Foundation from Boise Idaho, we have been able to gather solid and reliable data for over seven years. With this data collection and subsequent publications of the Silver Creek Annual Reports, we can keep everyone better informed of the status of Silver Creek and continue to move conservation for Silver Creek in positive manner. The Annual Reports for Silver Creek are an ongoing effort and have an annual budget of $80,000.00 that covers the data collection (fieldwork), analysis of the data, new equipment, maintenance of the equipment, administration of the SaveSilverCreek.org website and the publications of the Annual Reports. Please feel free to contact us anytime for a hard copy of the Annual Reports. One of the most exciting projects we completed in 2020 was the Silver Creek Assessment Report. This project was partnered with the Nature Conservancy and contracted by Ecosystem Sciences and RIO-ASE from Boise Idaho. The Assessment ties together all past reports, studies and data into a comprehensive report that outlines all areas in need of restoration and prioritizes them. This document gives agencies and landowners a way to better understand the needs of the stream and methods of treatment best suited their situation. Other projects we are working on include a cooperative water management program for Silver Creek with help from the Wood River Water Collaborative, Nature Conservancy, Trout Unlimited and the Wood River Land Trust. We need your help to achieve these goals and we deeply appreciate your support.
The Silver Creek Alliance and Nature Conservancy are aggressively planning total restoration of Loving Creek at this time. Please see the 2023 Silver Creek Update for more information.
